The dissertation presents the results of a study of the problem of artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in a comprehensive school in the PRC, which made it possible to scientifically substantiate and experimentally verify the pedagogical conditions for increasing the effectiveness of this process. The essence of the concepts of “artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music” and “artistic and aesthetic education of a high school age individual” is highlighted. The pedagogical pedagogical conditions for artistic and aesthetic education of high school students are determined, substantiated and tested on the basis of experimental study of the factors of formation and enrichment of the artistic and aesthetic space of students, where the role of music lessons in the system of compulsory education of the PRC is system-forming. A model of artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in schools in the PRC is developed; the structure of artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in schools in the PRC is described; a criterion-based approach (indicators and signs) of artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in schools in the PRC is developed; The levels of artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in schools in the PRC were characterized; the concept of "artistic and aesthetic education" in a general scientific interpretation was clarified; on the basis of the specified diagnostic tools, a phased verification of the definition of pedagogical conditions for artistic and aesthetic education of high school students through music in general secondary education in the PRC was carried out; a developed model approach was introduced in order to identify its comparative effectiveness with the traditional one in relation to the artistic and aesthetic education of high school students. Further development was achieved by theoretical approaches to the problem of actualizing the artistic and aesthetic educational potential of music lessons, directions of musical and pedagogical influence on the artistic and aesthetic upbringing of the personality of a high school student, the idea of increasing international interaction, cooperation, and collaboration in the context of musical pedagogy and the ethno-national world community, and the disclosure of the pedagogical potential of musical art in the artistic and aesthetic education of students in the PRC, which consists in the functions of art: ideological, communicative, artistic and aesthetic, and cognitive.
