Ivannikova O. Formation of Linguistic and Communicative Competence of Future Primary School Teachers in the Process of Professional Training

The thesis for the first time substantiates the pedagogical conditions for the formation of future primary school teachers’ linguistic and communicative competence in the process of professional training (formation of a culture of communication, positive motivation to linguistic and communicative pedagogical activity through the use of active methods, innovative forms and technologies; actualization of the subjective experience of students’ communicative interaction with participants in the educational process on the basis of improving the content of education; practice-oriented process of forming the future primary school teacher’s linguistic and communicative competence to consolidate the individual language style of pedagogical communication in professional activity). A model for the formation of future primary school teachers’ linguistic and communicative competence in the process of professional training has been developed and tested, which includes three blocks: purposeful and methodological (social order, goal, tasks, approaches, principles), content and procedural (subjects, stages, didactic tools, content, forms, methods, means, technologies) and evaluation and result (evaluation and criterion tools and result). The practical significance of the research results lies in the development and implementation in the educational process of higher education institutions: methods of diagnosing the levels of formation of future primary school teachers’ linguistic and communicative competence; updating the content of the educational components “Ukrainian Language Course with a Practical Training in Primary School”, “Fundamentals of Pedagogical Skills”, “Methods of Teaching Ukrainian Language in Primary School”, “Pedagogy”, “Psychology” and pedagogical practice; introducing selective components “Culture of Communication”, “Teacher’s Pedagogical Technique”, conducting general pedagogical seminars “Thinking Hats”, “Language and Communication Competence”, and training “Specifics and Functions of Pedagogical Communication”.
