Essay

The object of the study is the professional training of future early childhood educators in the United States and Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the stages, trends, content and educational and methodological support for the professional training of future early childhood educators to teach foreign languages in preschool education in the United States and to summarize the prospects for implementing progressive American experience in the practice of higher education in Ukraine based on the theoretical analysis of the problem under study. To achieve this goal and solve the tasks of our study, the following methods were used: theoretical: search and bibliographic method; comparative analysis. The results of the study are that for the first time: the stages of development of professional training of future early childhood educators in the United States are determined; current trends in the professional training of future early childhood educators to teach foreign languages in preschools in the United States are substantiated; the content and educational and methodological support of professional training of future early childhood educators to teach foreign languages in preschools in the United States in the context of traditional and transdisciplinary approaches are characterized; the current state of professional training of future early childhood educators is observed; the essence of the concepts of the categorical apparatus of the study was clarified: “professional training”, “teaching foreign languages”, “preschool”; methods, forms and technologies of professional training of future early childhood educators to teach foreign languages to children in preschool education institutions in Ukraine have been further developed. The results of the study have been implemented in the educational process of higher pedagogical education institutions: Municipal Institution “Uman Taras Shevchenko Humanitarian and Pedagogical College of Cherkasy Regional Council” (certificate No. 2/01-14 of 06.01.2025), Rivne State University of the Humanities (certificate No. 01-12/87 of 02.12.2024), Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav (certificate No. 1326 of 06.12.2024), Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University (certificate No. 62-n of 12.12.2024).
