Bilas Y. Life path, creative achievements and public activities of S. V. Pylypenko (1891–1934)

The dissertation is devoted to the study of the biography of the Ukrainian writer and public figure Sergey Pylypenko, as well as the personification of his personal contribution to the formation of socio -cultural the environment of the first third of the twentieth century. The relevance of the topic is explained by the need to analyze the activities of key personalities of the Ukrainian national elite against the backdrop of political repression of the 1920s-1930s. scientists, artists and public figures, etc. The study is emphasized on the public work and personal contribution of Sergei Pylypenko to the development of the socio -cultural environment of Ukraine in the first third of the twentieth century. Purpose - based on the processing of historical sources and scientific Literature to carry out a comprehensive study of biography and to reconstruct the life of the Ukrainian writer Sergey Pylypenko. The object of the study is the socio -cultural environment of Ukraine of the first third of the 20th in the context of the leading representatives of the Ukrainian national elite. The subject of the study is the reproduction of multidimensional activities of the Ukrainian public figure and writer Sergei Pylypenko (1891 - 1934) and his role in the Ukrainian public, scientific and cultural artistic environment of the first third of the twentieth century.Restoration of historical memory and memorialization of the repressed figure in the Ukrainian cultural space. The introduction substantiates the urgency of the need for a comprehensive study of Sergei Pylypenko's biography, the object, subject, chronological and territorial boundaries of the study are outlined. The purpose of scientific research, as well as concrete and problem tasks, is defined. Characterized Methodological basis of dissertation. Scientific novelty is presented and information on communication with scientific programs, plans and topics is presented. The practical importance of the results obtained is covered, information on the personal contribution of the applicant is provided and a list of publications on the topic of the dissertation is presented. The dissertation consists of four sections. The first section is devoted to historiographical analysis of scientific and popular literature, which allows to determine both the previous degree of study of the chosen topic, and contributes to the definition of the latest directions of scientific search for information about the activities of Sergei Pylypenko. In particular, the section covers a set of historical sources. The source base is represented by archival documents, periodicals, epistolary, memoirs, oral historical sources and material monuments. Conducting a comprehensive study of Sergei Pylypenko's personality and the coverage of unknown pages of his biography was based on the use of various principles and methods of scientific research.The second section first presents a genealogical study of the Pylypenkov family of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the years of study of Sergey Pylypenko in the first Kiev gymnasium, the conditions of formation were revealed The professional skill of the figure while studying at the University of Kiev. The educational and teaching activities of the artist after deduction from the university are covered and his participation in the First World War is analyzed. In particular, by working out the newspaper periodicals of the 1910s, the journalistic and editorial activity of Sergei Pylypenko in the first postwar years was characterized. The third section is devoted to the assessment of the role and place of the figure in the emergence and development of a new literary and artistic environment in Kharkiv, which was the capital of the USSR. Based on the source base, the main directions of activity of Sergey Pylypenko in the first half of the 1920s were defined and structured. The assessment of his personal contribution was made both in the development of art and political and ideological education peasant and city public.
